I didn’t want to title this post wordless Wednesday because I knew I wouldn’t be able to just put up and shut up. Here’s my photo.
Her: Can I stay up late?
Me: You can stay up late as long as you’re in your bed.
Her: awwww.
Me: Reading.
Her: Yay!
Yay is right.

That's a well-raised kid!You must be ticked pink!
Yay indeed! I was given the same rules as a kid, and love to read to this day. It's always the best winding-down routine at night for me too. Old habits. Good habits.
my kiddos read before bed still. I think its the best thing you can do. It winds them down instead of trying to get them to sleep after watching tv/playing video games
I wish my kid liked to read. We tried and tried, but he always equates reading with torture.
wonderful. i wish i could get my son to read more. he does it on a has-to basis.
btw: the title of this post reminded me of the seventies bill cosby thing "picture pages, picture pages, time to get your picture pages. timme to get your crayons and your pencils." do you have any idea what im talking about or am i just totally dating myself?
my daughter does this. she's 3. she sleeps with books in her bed. we had to limit her to just the book we read that night because the stack just kept growing and she had less and less room for her to actually sleep. i imagine people have had worse problems with their toddler... :)
